Our Community

The origins of our Community date to May 1895 when Alfred and Albert Smiley purchased 262 acres of prime forest land on the edge of the San Bernardino National Forest for the purpose of developing a resort. Over the years a small number of cabins were built, a few of which remain today. In 1923 they sold all but five acres of the property to a company which subsequently incorporated it as the Smiley Park Country Club, a non-profit homeowners association. Our governing documents provide that at least half of the area of the Park remains undeveloped.

The Park is currently composed of 164 memberships and it maintains its own roads and water system. It offers multiple amenities, including a clubhouse and patio, to its members. Our members range from full-time to part-time residents and some who have not yet built homes. The Park provides an open and beautiful setting for walking along quiet private roads, enjoying the fresh mountain air and views, and sharing time with family, friends and other members of the Community. Please free to contact us to learn more about us and to get involved
